The performance dashboard

The performance dashboard

The dashboard is the entry point to Performance: what is open, what is waiting on you, and how your people are tracking. It is most useful for the thing it makes visible — cycles that have stalled.

Where: Performance › Dashboard You need: performance rights; what you see depends on which employees they cover

What it shows

Open cycles and their state, for the people you have access to. Because every assessment and goal cycle is in one of three states, the dashboard answers "who are we waiting for" without opening anything:

StateWaiting on
Pending on employeeThe employee
Pending on reviewerThe reviewer
CompletedNobody

Reading it well

Look at the pending counts, not the completed ones. A completed cycle needs nothing from you. The value is in the two pending states, and specifically in how long things have been sitting there.

Pending on reviewer is your problem. It means employees have done their part and are waiting. That is the queue that costs goodwill, and it is usually shorter than the employee queue and easier to clear.

A cycle stuck at pending on employee for weeks is either a chasing problem or a sign that people do not know it is there. Check whether they were notified before assuming the former.

What Happens Next

  • Opening a cycle takes you to the assessments or goals within it.
  • The dashboard reflects current state; it changes as people complete their parts.
  • Nothing on the dashboard acts on its own — chasing is a human step.

Tips

  • Check it twice during a cycle, not once at the end. A review process fails by drifting past its close date, and that is visible here weeks earlier.
  • Clear the reviewer queue first. Those are people waiting on you or your managers, and it is the fastest goodwill you will earn all quarter.
  • If you cannot see someone you expect, it is rights rather than a missing cycle — see Performance user rights.
  • Do not judge a team by completion speed alone. A fast cycle full of one-line reviews is worse than a slow, considered one.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Q: I cannot see a team a colleague can. Your performance rights do not cover those employees.

Q: A cycle is not on the dashboard. Check it has been published and that it has started.

Q: The counts look wrong. They reflect what your rights let you see, so two people can legitimately see different numbers.

Q: Some pages show the same figures for everyone. Ask before relying on it — a page whose numbers do not vary between employees is worth checking against the underlying assessments and goals.
