My Team is where you manage the people in your company: their profiles, your organisation structure, who approves what, and the reports that tell you whether any of it is in order. This is a map — each area has its own article.

What sits where

The order to set things up

Each step depends on the one before it, and doing them out of order creates rework:

1. Organisation structure — branches, departments, positions. Before anyone is added.
2. User rights — who can see and do what.
3. Approval chains — where requests go. Before people start raising them.
4. Profile Automations — so placement sets the right settings automatically.
5. Add employees — one at a time or in bulk.

⚠️ Steps 1 and 3 are the ones people skip. Adding employees before the structure exists means editing every profile afterwards; adding them before approvals exist means requests that route nowhere and have to be cleared by hand.

The jobs you will actually do

• Onboarding and offboarding — adding and deactivating people
• Keeping records straight — Profile Manager for bulk edits, bulk data import for large changes
• Watching data quality — the Missing Data and Audit Trail reports
• Answering the questions leadership asks — Turnover, Demographics, Key Dates

Two habits worth having

Work the dashboard, not your inbox. Approvals wait on the dashboard rather than being emailed at you, so an unopened dashboard is a queue nobody is clearing.

Run the Missing Data report monthly. Almost every downstream problem — payroll gaps, reports that undercount, automations that do not fire — traces back to incomplete profiles, and this is the cheapest place to catch them.
