Policy Center
Policy Center holds your company handbook and policy documents — the reference material your team can read when they need it.
If a policy must be read and acknowledged by each employee, it belongs in Custom Policies instead. Policy Center is reference; Custom Policies is obligation.

Publishing is only half of it
Putting a policy somewhere people could read it is not the same as being able to show they did. The acknowledgement record is the point of this tool: it turns "the handbook is on the intranet" into a per-employee record of who confirmed they had seen it.
That record is what matters if a policy is ever relied on in a disciplinary case or a dispute. A policy nobody acknowledged is difficult to enforce.
Issuing a policy
You upload the document and issue it to employees. Issuing is processed in the background rather than instantly, so a large issue does not appear complete the moment you press the button — give it a moment before assuming something has gone wrong.
Tracking acknowledgements
Once issued, you can see who has acknowledged and who has not. Treat the outstanding list as a work queue rather than a report:
- A steady tail is normal and clears with a reminder.
- A whole department outstanding usually means they never saw it — check whether those
people have activated their accounts at all before chasing individuals.
- Long-term outstanding is the risk. An unacknowledged policy is the one you cannot rely
on later.
When a policy changes
Issue the new version and collect acknowledgements again. Acknowledging the old version is not evidence of having seen the new one, and the difference matters precisely when the change is significant.
Keep the record of the earlier version rather than replacing it — you may need to show what someone agreed to at a point in time, not just what the current policy says.
Policy Center, Document Templates or Bulk Documents?
Three things look similar and are not:
| Use | For |
|---|---|
| Policy Center | Policies everyone must read and acknowledge |
| Document Templates | Reusable wording for documents you issue repeatedly |
| Bulk Documents | Attaching a file to many employee records |
The distinguishing question is whether you need proof that each person saw it. If you do, it belongs here.
