Team Insights Report

Every other report on the page gives you numbers. The Team Insights Report gives you Mel's reading of them — written out, in order, with recommendations.

What it covers

Mel works through a fixed brief:

  • Headlines — what matters most right now
  • Turnover
  • Retention risks
  • Decisions due
  • Disciplinary patterns
  • Recommended actions

The value is in the last two. Patterns across cases, and what to do about them, are the parts nobody has time to assemble by hand from six separate reports.

It only sees what you can see

Mel uses only the team data you have access to. Two people generating the report on the same day can legitimately get different documents, because their access differs.

This matters when comparing notes with a colleague, and it means the report is safe to generate — it cannot surface people you are not entitled to see.

Changing what it covers

The brief is editable, under Mel (AI) › Mel settings › Report instructions.

If the report is not answering your question — too much on turnover, nothing on a topic you care about — edit the steps rather than working around the output. It is a set of instructions, not a fixed template.

How to use it

Generate it before the meeting where you would otherwise be asked "so how is the team doing?" — it is written to be read, not interpreted.

Treat the recommendations as a starting list rather than instructions. Mel sees your data, not your context: it does not know a department is mid-restructure, or that a run of resignations followed one manager leaving.
