My Team for managers
As a manager, My Team is where you handle the people who report to you: approving their requests, checking their details, and keeping their records current. This is a short map — you will use a fraction of what an administrator does, and that is by design.
Where: My Team in the main menu
What you will see
Your view is narrower than an administrator's, in two ways at once:
- Fewer tabs. KAMI hides what you cannot use rather than greying it out, so a missing tab means a missing right, not a fault.
- Fewer people. Your scope is usually your own team, so the Team page shows them rather than the company.
Reports and Settings often appear with a single item in them. That is expected — the tab shows if you can reach at least one thing inside it. See User rights and access control.
What you will actually do
Approve what is waiting. Leave, attendance corrections, expense claims and profile changes route to you if you are set as the approver. They wait on your dashboard — they are not emailed at you, so an unopened dashboard is a queue nobody is clearing. See Approving requests in My Team.
Check your team's details. The Team page is the list of everyone you manage and the way into any profile.
Keep records current. Where you have the rights, correct details as they change rather than at review time.
Being a manager and being an approver are different
This catches people out. Your position in the org chart does not by itself route anything to you — approvals are configured separately in the approval matrix.
If you expect requests and see none, that is the first thing to check, not a fault. See Approval chains and the approval matrix.
Tips
- Check the dashboard daily, briefly. Approvals that sit past a deadline cannot always be actioned later — attendance corrections in particular expire when the period locks.
- Decline with a reason. A bare decline produces a resubmission of the same request.
- Ask for the right rather than a workaround. If you cannot see something you need, it is a permission — someone can grant it in a minute.
